Mostly illegal activity is however legal in some places and cities, that open their doors for creative people to express themselves. After all, we all have to watch stupid advertisements all around the town and the corporations don't really ask our opinion. So we have picked ten hotspots to go search for graffiti art.

10. Stockholm Metro Station, Stockholm, Sweden

Unofficially known as the „world's longest art gallery", the metro station has some exciting paintings. First underground painting was painted in 1970s. The colorful rugged surface of the walls and ceiling gives a surreal impression of flaming space.

Why to go there?

90 of 100 stations exhibit paintings of almost 150 artists. The initial goal was to bring art to public by using the public space. The idea worked out very well and today this might be the most popular metro station in the world.

9. Bristol, UK

The native town of world famous graffiti artist Banksy, Bristol attracts young creative people from all around the world. In summer Europe's largest festival takes place in the city, where artists are invited to paint live in the neighborhoods of Bedminster and Southville.

Why to go there?

A hip city has an abundance of art, music venues, museums and friendly locals.

8. Berlin, Germany

The capital is a hub for the artists. And of course there is plenty of space for the painters: what is left of the Berlin Wall is open for the artists to express their creativity. The practice is not unusual in Germany – even in the smallest towns you could find a wall, which is being constantly painted and repainted by the artists.

It is said, that Bogota has a truly vibrant artistic scene, which is however overshadowed by Mexico and Brazil. Therefore you can expect to find unexpected there.

2. Melbourne, Australia

The town is a graffiti capital in Australia apparently. Recently it has been attracting the world-wide attention to its street art: the city attracts people from all around the globe, therefore they develop a really unique style.

Why to go there?

A blend of various cultures is evident on the murals around the town.

Whenever you go to Hosier Lane you will find somebody taking a photos of this unique area, including Rutledge Lane as well. It is a square of about 200 metres, you walk around and you see just graffiti, some awesome ones as well as some less impressive ones, however overall a great place to visit. This is not by any mean a secret spot. The only suggestion I can give is to visit it off peak time, which is either in the night or in the early hours of the morning, just after sunrise, otherwise your photos will be including many other photographers :D
